Dutch MC Deams shares a few words with us on the late Keith Elam aka. Guru.
Keith Elam, better known in the Hip Hop world as the legendary MC Guru, founder of Gang Starr, passed away on April 19th after a long battle against cancer. Since his passing there has been an enormous outrage on the Internet regarding his spokesman, Solar.
The allegedly written letter by Guru that showed up after his death has been questioned by just about everybody that knew him, whether personally or as a fan.
As we were able to see Solar being interviewed by MTV’s Sway and also read the statement from DJ Premier regarding Guru’s passing, I thought it would be interesting to ask someone else’s point of view; someone who was also familiar with Guru and has worked closely with him. Deams, a Dutch MC and one of the ‘grandfathers” of Hip Hop in The Netherlands, was signed with Gang Starr back in the early 90’s.
